The society is planning a number of weekend activities to examine the archaeology of Gaywood Valley. Each of these events will include archaeology professionals that will support the various activities. Due to time constraints there is a limited amount of things that are possible in a weekend and extensive excavations are not planned. We do hope to survey and record any standing buildings in the area, focusing on the main villages of the Gaywood Valley. We will also be digging Test Pits on public land and also in private land - where we have permission from the landowner. In addition we will be doing some fieldwalking on recently ploughed fields (again with the farmers approval!) to see what artefacts have been revealed by the plough.
